The kit is made of quality material. I haven’t deleted the EGR yet, but I will once the weather cools down. Removing the monstrous DPF/CAT bazooka was straight-forward and able to remove by myself. I used a floor jack for leverage on the heavy end. I decided to go with the Shibby dummy plugs to protect the remained plugs and pins. The EZ Link 3 is awesome, and it was easy to reprogram the ECM and TCM. I’m glad I went with the EZ Lynk 3 and SOTF. Instead of drilling holes in my dash, I made a metal mount plate to secure the switch next to the OBDII plug. Diesel Dudes staff responded to my questions really quick…superb customer service. So far, I have been getting about 7 mpg increase and the power increase is incredible. I would have rated this a “5”, but there were a couple of issues:
1. I received the 2017-2019 Ford V2 SOTF kit. The wiring harness was totally different than what’s shown in the instructions and videos, it had pre-wired male and female plugs. This was great, however, there were no instructions or videos that pertained to this specific setup, or explanation to install both plugs (all available instructions stated to keep the throttle body plug disconnected). However, I did find a YouTube video that explained this setup and to install both plugs.
2. The EZ Lynk 3 has numerous ECM and TCM reprogram options. There needs to be an explanation made available for all the various program code options. I reprogrammed using the codes that Iron Diesel used in the video, but as far as I know, there could have been a better setup for me. A list of the codes and explanation of each is critical to make sure the inexperienced select the best option and not damage their vehicle.
3. The box containing the DPF delete exhaust kit was severely damaged and torn up. The downpipe flange was dented up, but I was able to reform it to fit. I’m really surprised that all parts were there. This is not Diesel Dudes’ fault. My experience, Fed Ex is the worse carrier.
4. The Shibby dummy plug kit is way overpriced. $169 is too much for 16 pieces of molded plastic. Heat shrink or electrical tape would work just as well and a fraction of the cost. Lesson-learned for me.
Regardless, Diesel Dudes provided the best price for the full delete kit, great customer service, and quick shipping. I do recommend these guys and their product.
