Will a delete kit void my warranty?
Yes. Any modification to emissions systems voids factory coverage on those specific components. Emissions-related warranties are gone once you delete. Power-train and other systems may still be covered depending on your dealer, but don't count on it.
Do I need both a downpipe and a full exhaust delete?
A downpipe removes the DPF and CAT but keeps the factory muffler and tailpipe. A full downpipe-back exhaust delete replaces everything from the turbo back. Full deletes flow better and sound meaner. Downpipes alone give you 80% of the benefit at lower cost. Your call based on budget and how aggressive you want to go.
What's the difference between the 3.5" and 5" downpipes?
Diameter affects flow rates and turbo spool. The 5" flows more air and reduces backpressure faster—better for high-boost builds and aggressive driving. The 3.5" is a compromise for street trucks that still want gains without excessive turbo lag. Stock turbo owners often stick with 3.5"; upgraded turbos benefit from 5".
Can I run a delete kit without tuning software?
Technically yes, but you're leaving power and efficiency on the table. More importantly, your truck will throw check-engine lights without delete software to disable emissions monitoring. The CAN BUS plug kit kills codes, but proper tuning software optimizes fuel delivery, timing, and boost for your specific mods. Do both or regret it later.
Is a cold air intake worth it with a delete?
