TUNE POWER SETTINGS

Our custom tunes include multiple power levels, so you can run your truck the way you want. The included DSP5 switch lets you change between levels in real time (also known as “shift on the fly”).

EFI Live power settings:

  • Level 1 (Stock): no added HP. Ideal for daily driving, towing and the best MPG.
  • Level 2: +30 HP. Ideal for daily driving and towing.
  • Level 3: +65 HP. Ideal for daily driving and towing.
  • Level 4: +100 HP. Ideal for performance applications.
  • Level 5: +130 HP. Ideal for performance applications, with other modifications recommended.

2011–2016 LML trucks: your transfer case decides which tune you get. With an electronic transfer case (you turn a dial or push a button to shift into 4x4), you get the DSP5 power levels above. With a manual transfer case (you pull a lever), you’ll get a single +50 HP tune instead.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

The EFI Live delete tuner will permanently upgrade your truck to work without the suffocating factory emissions system.

This means you can remove ALL emissions-related parts and sensors for good, including:

  • DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter)
  • DEF Tank (Diesel Exhaust Fluid)
  • EGR System (Exhaust Gas Recirculation)
  • CAT (Catalytic Converters, including DOC and NOx)

This is made possible by our custom delete tunes that wipe away the emissions system from your truck’s computer.

How it works

  1. Load the tune onto your EFI Live. Use the free EFI Live V8 software to transfer the delete tune from your computer to your EFI Live. We’ll send you basic instructions. You’ll need a Windows 10 or newer computer (no Macs or older PCs).
  2. Plug in the tuner. Connect your EFI Live to your truck’s OBD-II port, located under the steering wheel.
  3. Install the tune. Follow the installation instructions we send you. Tech support is available if you need a hand.
  4. Remove the parts. Once the emissions system is “deleted” from the programming, you can remove everything holding your diesel back.

You’ll also need a DPF delete pipe: install one after you install the tune. The only exception is older Duramax models that never had a DPF. Shop DPF delete pipes and exhaust systems

IMPORTANT INSTALLATION INFORMATION

If you’re a complete fish out of water when it comes to working on your truck, we highly recommend having a shop do the install.

COMPUTER NEEDED. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

To make sure your EFI Live delete tuner runs without problems, check that your computer meets these minimum requirements:

  • Software: EFI Live Scan & Tune V8, free to download from EFI Live’s website
  • Operating system: a PC or laptop running Windows 10 or 11
  • Not compatible with: Mac or Linux
  • Connectivity: one available USB port to connect the tuner
  • Display: a standard monitor or laptop screen
  • Storage: at least 1 GB of free hard drive space

CAB & CHASSIS INFORMATION

Cab & Chassis trucks get a single +50 HP tune file, not the DSP5 switch with multiple power levels.

How to tell if you have a Cab & Chassis truck: your registration sticker, usually on the driver’s door, says “Incomplete Vehicle” below the VIN. Most Cab & Chassis trucks are 4500 and 5500 models.

Single fuel tank? If your Cab & Chassis truck has a single fuel tank, please contact us at (888) 830-2588 before purchasing, since certain model years aren’t compatible.

Returns

  • EFI Live delete tuner: built to order with a custom tune file for your truck’s VIN, so it isn’t eligible for refunds or cancellations. We guarantee the tuner will work, and if you receive a faulty or damaged tuner, we’ll replace it.

The EFI Live Autocal Delete Tuner for 2001–2016 GM/Chevy 6.6 Duramax wipes the factory emissions programming from your truck's ECM for good, clearing the "See Dealer" codes, check engine lights, limp mode alerts, and "Exhaust system service required" warnings that have been slowing you down. Pair it with your delete pipes and your Duramax runs the way it should.

The stock DPF, EGR system, DEF tank, and catalytic converters add backpressure, heat, and complexity to an engine built to work hard. The tune lets you remove all of those parts for good, so the regen cycles that kill fuel economy and clog injectors stop too.

You download the custom tune built to your VIN from a Windows PC to the Autocal using the free EFI Live V8 software, plug it into your OBDII port, follow the included step-by-step instructions, then pull the physical emissions hardware. The included DSP5 switch flips between five power levels in real time, no laptop needed: Stock +0HP for daily driving, towing, and best MPG, then +30HP, +65HP, +100HP, and +130HP for performance. Cab & Chassis trucks and 2011–2016 LML trucks with a manual transfer case receive a single 0HP tune and no DSP5.

Inside the box you get the EFI Live Autocal with all required cables, your custom VIN-built tune (not preloaded, Windows 10 or 11 required), the DSP5 switch, and emailed instructions. A delete tuner is a device that reprograms your truck’s ECM (computer) to turn off emissions systems like the DPF, EGR, and DEF, allowing your truck to run without those components.
You MUST remove your DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter), as the filter will clog and stop all exhaust flow when shut off. 

You will no longer need DEF (Diesel Exhaust Fluid), and you may remove your DEF tank if you wish, or it can sit empty. The EGR may remain as is, but we recommend removing the physical parts as well.
